CentOS-4.1/alpha beta release notes =================================== CREDITS: - For the unmentioned, but you know who you are. I wasn't quite confident of making release with only ancient hardware but i got ES45, so i started all over again and now i do have some 'pretty recent hardware' to support this thingie. - AlphaCore-project. I had some of the mods made on my own, but being able to use patches from this project, really speeded up my final (past week) progress of making it usable for rest of the world. - Red Hat Inc. for keeping the sources publically available - The coders whom make the sources. - Whom ever i forget in this. MISSION: - The CentOS-4/alpha is just being project, where i have been trying to keep most of the sourcebase intact, so it would be long term maintainable release which would have security updates for future too. Notably there are kernel and php, which arent' derived from the CentOS-4 codebase at all. I really did have time to hammer these now as i really want to pack this up for public testing as beta. INSTALLATION NOTES: - Tested (and built too) on ES45 (quad-1Ghz) w/ Radeon 9250 PCI-graphics. - SELinux isn't working perfectly, so permissive mode would be your friend. Regards, Your CentOS-4/alpha maintainer Pasi Pirhonen
